Hagen History Center's sister organization, the Erie Society for Genealogical Research (ESGR), responds to family history research inquiries for both groups. 

Established in 1972, ESGR is a 100% volunteer organization focused on promoting the study and preservation of family history in Erie County and the neighboring area.

They are dedicated to the following goals:

• To provide educational opportunities and training in genealogy research methods; 
• To institute projects to preserve genealogical and historical records and resources; 
• To publish genealogical research guidance and information; and 
• To share their accumulated knowledge with the Erie area historical community, its members and the public.
